Meet James...
"Everyone needs to enjoy themselves."
I have a background in entertainment, so I like to make sure everyone feels relaxed and enjoys the ceremony. For me it’s really important that your guests feel they can clap and laugh and that they are a part of the ceremony and not just there observing it.
"I really want to marry you!"
I love meeting couples and working with them to create their perfect ceremony. My wife and I were married by a humanist celebrant. We loved our ceremony. It was full of all the things we wanted, songs our guests could sing along with, funny stories, and vows that made the promises we wanted to make. Most of our guests hadn’t been to a Humanist ceremony before and told us it was the best wedding ceremony they had ever been to. Now I want to make that happen for other people. I still remember how excited we were with the first draft of our wedding ceremony, I love giving that feeling to other couples.
"Let's make the perfect ceremony for you."
I often meet couples who are so busy planning the party, they haven’t found a chance to think through their ceremony choices yet. This is a really exciting time to offer lots of ideas and help guide couples to their perfect ceremony.
"I love what I do!"
The role of a celebrant is tremendously rewarding, working out what it is that people want to tell their story so their guests really feel involved. A great humanist ceremony tells a great story about how the couple work together. I want to help you tell your story.

Feedback About James
My husband and I were nervous about meeting James as we had been happy with our original humanist, who unfortunately became ill and could no longer conduct our ceremony. However, James quickly put our minds to rest and made us feel comfortable at the very first meeting.
James took on board the ideas we had but also gave us lots of helpful suggestions which led to the final material for our wedding. Throughout the full process, we felt that James understood who we were as a couple and this translated into a very personal and relaxed ceremony.
Despite some major stress in the lead up to our wedding, James kept in contact, offering support and ideas on how we could overcome the problems we had encountered.
On the “big day” itself, James led us through a humorous, personal and memorable ceremony which we were delighted with. He felt like one of our friends and this came across to all of our family and friends in attendance.
All of our guests commented on how great they had found ceremony and particularly how James presented. I would say that our ceremony was one of the highlights of the day for these reasons and we could not have asked for more.
