Meet Kate
I just love meeting people from all walks of life and never fail to be amazed by how extraordinary folk are. I create personal ceremonies to mark life’s milestones in whatever form suits you best. You don’t need to know what you want, we can figure it all out together, whether we’ll need high heals or hiking boots! Maybe both?
I live in Linlithgow with my partner, toddler and big silly dog. I have been working as a lighting designer in theatre and events for the last twenty years or so and am now slowly retraining as a psychotherapist as well. Becoming a celebrant seemed a great way to combine the skills of listening and story telling and has lead to connecting with some cracking folk along the way too.

About Kate
A couple of family funerals and then our own wedding led me towards humanism and the importance of marking or celebrating life’s many moments of transition. My key values are authenticity, kindness and community. These are values I actively pursue as a celebrant and also in life as a general human being! I was once described as having ‘an unobtrusive sense of fun’ and am known for being calm in even the most chaotic of situations.
In my free time my favourite activity is simply sharing food with friends - a barbecue, a pot of soup or the last custard cream and a cup of tea. Time spent together with good people is just the best.
If you think you might like to work together to create your ideal ceremony, drop me a line or give me a call. We can have a quick no obligation chat to see how we fit and take it from there.

"...they have chosen a Humanist ceremony as they feel it best fits their shared values of kindness and truth. Shared moments together like this to mark milestones in our life are surely part of what it is to be human. And a wedding must surely be one of the happiest of celebrations - [to couple] a declaration of love and commitment to journey through the rest of your lives together - supporting each other, sustaining each other, holding each other..."
