About Us

We are a small group of Humanist celebrants affiliated to the Scottish Charity, A Quiet Revolution.

We're trying to change the world one ceremony at a time.
We conduct legal weddings and create meaningful, unique ceremonies to mark life's big moments.
Through our work, we raise funds to cover the costs of a celebrant for a wedding or funeral.

Please have a look at our Testimonials, Our Celebrants profiles and if you feel that we are right for you, contact us to find out more.

Our Charity

We promote the values of Humanism:
  • To think for ourselves about what is right and wrong, based on reason, fairness and respect for others
  • To recognise the dignity of individuals
  • To respect and promote freedom, democracy and human rights
  • To work together for the common good
  • To celebrate human achievement, progress and potential
  • To find meaning, beauty, and joy in the one life we have, without the need for an afterlife
  • To use empathy and compassion to make the world a better place for everyone.

Our charitable aims are:
  • To support individuals and families in the community through key life stages, promoting positive attitudes, encouraging open conversations and carrying out legal ceremonies and rites of passage around major life events from birth to death
  • To support women, people who identify as LGBT, BME or disabled and other minority groups to have positive experiences of life
  • To promote positive images of ageing and encouraging active participation in life at all ages and stages, encouraging dialogue and support to address loss, grief and social isolation
  • To provide access to creative engagement activities and retreats, health and wellbeing workshops, support events and life coaching in order to expand individuals' horizons, skills, and sense of self and provide new experiences that enhance confidence and wellbeing.

COVID-19 RESPONSE

We are pleased to be able to offer memorial ceremonies and Zoom funerals to celebrate a life for families and friends who could not attend a burial or cremation because of current restrictions. We can help cover the costs of a celebrant to support you through this.

“I was amazed how intimate and real it was.”
“It was a lovely way to connect – doing our best in difficult times.”

TACKLING FUNERAL POVERTY

Our charity was set up to help people get meaningful ceremonies – like weddings and funerals – to mark huge life changes.

For every ceremony we carry out, individuals, couples and families make a donation to the charity. This helps to build a fund to cover the costs of a celebrant for families who can’t afford a funeral service.

Whether you’d like to donate to the fund or would like help with the costs of a funeral celebrant to craft and lead a ceremony, contact us to find out more.
